Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 May 2026

Acceptance

By creating a Pipedata account or using the pd CLI, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Pipedata is a data-transport service that lets you push records through pipes from the command-line tool pd and from HTTP ingress endpoints, and have them delivered to destinations you configure. The service is currently offered as a private beta on pipedata.io.

Your account

Accounts are created through GitHub OAuth. You are responsible for keeping your GitHub credentials and any API tokens issued for your workspace secure. Accounts are for individual humans; do not share credentials. We may suspend accounts that show signs of compromise or abuse.

Acceptable use

When using Pipedata you agree not to:

  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the hosted service;
  • resell, sublicense, or repackage the service for third parties without our written permission;
  • transmit content that is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, or violates applicable export-control or sanctions rules;
  • send spam, malware, or unsolicited bulk messages through pipes;
  • probe, scan, or load-test the infrastructure without prior written authorisation.

Your content

You retain all rights to the records you push through pipes. You grant Pipedata a limited licence to receive, store, encrypt, and deliver those records as instructed by your pipe configuration, for as long as needed to operate the service. We do not read pipe contents and do not use them to train models or for any other purpose.

Feedback

If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feature requests, you grant Pipedata a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use them without attribution or compensation. You keep any rights you already had in the underlying idea.

Billing

Paid plans are processed through Polar.sh, which acts as merchant of record. Prices, taxes, invoicing, and refunds are governed by Polar.sh's terms in addition to these Terms. We may suspend or downgrade your workspace if an invoice is unpaid after reasonable notice.

Beta status and changes

Because Pipedata is in private beta, features may change, be removed, or be replaced as we iterate. We will give reasonable notice — by email or in-product — before any change that materially reduces functionality you depend on. We may also pause or end the beta with notice.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the settings UI. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms after notice and a reasonable chance to cure, or immediately for serious misuse. On termination, your access ends and your pipe data is deleted according to the retention schedule described in the Privacy Policy.

Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by Spanish law, Pipedata disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in this section limits warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pipedata's aggregate liability arising out of or related to the service is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Pipedata is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, or data. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under Spanish law (e.g. wilful misconduct or personal injury).

Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Pipedata against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the service, your content, or your breach of these Terms. Pipedata will defend and indemnify you against third-party claims that the service itself, as provided by us and used as permitted, infringes their intellectual-property rights.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes will be brought before the courts of the provider's domicile in Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We will post the new version on this page, update the date at the top, and notify registered users by email for material changes. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms.
